HI, I’M JAYA — A

I am a third-year Bachelor of Interior Design student at Vancouver Island University in a CIDA-accredited program. I am passionate about transforming abstract ideas and visions into tangible, meaningful spaces. I chose interior design because I have always loved taking something imagined, whether a concept, feeling, or dream, and bringing it to life in a physical and experiential way. The field allows me to combine creativity and human connection through thoughtful, people-centered design and collaboration.

Global architecture and design experiences play an important role in shaping my perspective as a designer. Through travelling and experiencing design across different cultures, I have developed a strong appreciation for how spaces reflect identity, craftsmanship, and the ways people live and connect. These influences continue to inform my work and encourage me to create environments that feel intentional, expressive, and grounded in human experience.
